We’re closing one chapter and opening a whole new one in CTE’s colorful 27 year history! The Emporia Arts Council is growing and their need for space is growing too. In an effort to assist our good friends and partners in The Arts, we’re moving out of our old haunt at 618 Mechanic St. It was a great run there.

The immediate plans are to place all of our gear (and there’s a lot of it believe me) in storage while we raise funds and search out a new venue to call our own. Our target is 3 to 6 months down the road.

We have been at the Emporia Arts Center going on 14 years and, since the organization is 27 years old, we had been giving some serious thought to getting our own place in any event. We look forward to some innovative presentations in the coming months, dinner theatre, impromptu guerilla theatre, sidewalk theatre and other kinds of fun and games.

We’ll be at the Lyon County Fairgrounds for the Keep It a Safe Summer program having auditions for Community Theatre of Emporia’s Mid Summer Fair in Peter Pan Park, brought to you by our friends at the Emporia Gazette . This year we’re doing something really special, we’re teaming up with the annual Greater Emporia BBQ Festival so there will definitely be fun for all ages!
