The Great Seat Robbery at Americus Days

Americus is celebrating their 150th anniversary on Saturday October 6th! It will be a full day of fun, activities, and entertainment for the whole family.

We’ll be there with the locals performing The Great Seat Robbery, a melodrama penned by Scott Rochat recounting the sad and sordid story of the relocation of the Lyon County Seat from Americus to Emporia. It’s a somewhat mostly historically accurate tale of covetousness, jealousy, greed, graft, heroism, and villainy.
