Coming up on the 28th and 29th of September, kicking off the 2007 -2008 season it’s CTE
Follies 2007! The Follies kick off our season and our annual membership drive.
Our members are more important to us than ever.
If you didn’t already know, we’ve gone mobile. We currently have no fixed performance space and member contributions will be a big help to us in obtaining one and the basic membership is just $10.
We have a lot of great performers lined up and we think it will be a great couple of evening’s entertainment! This year it will be at 2705 W Highway 50 next to Price Chopper.

Yes, it’s melodrama time again for CTE. Come early October, Community Theatre of Emporia will be joining forces with Americus Days to present a deathless tale of courage, tragedy and sheer persnickity-ness … The Great Seat Robbery aka The Stealing of the Lyon County Seat! (Note: Add adjectives and other flowery phrases to taste, then simmer for 150 years).
And who gets to write this deathless tale? Well, I really didn’t have enough to do these days, anyway…
Watch this space for more on our dashing, daring and above all BRIEF dramatic excursion in honor of Americus’ 150th anniversary. And remember, you can’t spell “Good Theater” without at least some of the letters in Americus Days!

Thanks to everyone who made it out to the CTE’s Midsummer Fair in Peter Pan Park the other week! Despite repeated 95 to 100-degree temperatures, it looked like everyone managed to laugh, cheer and enjoy themselves thoroughly. Of course, with all the slapstick action in “Shrew,” our actors may have been too busy defending themselves to notice the heat right away. And getting hit in the face with a cup of water never hurts, right, Tonya?
See you at the next one!
